Description
Harvested at night, the soils, which have a high proportion of limestone and flint, produce expressive Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes that result in a very pure, characterful no added sulphur white wine, which aren’t as common as reds. Skin macerated for 15 hours, the juice is settled followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature to preserve the aromas. A white that’s full-bodied with a complex nose of peaches, citrus fruits and floral aromas and a long harmonious finish.
About the Estate
The vines of Château Grinou are centred around the small village of Monestier where vines have been planted since the Middle Ages (1053). With efforts from Gabriel and Julien, the new generation at Grinou, they hope this historical area will have a long and fruitful future too. The sons have already helped turn the whole estate to organic production back in 2009, and are now adopting a new strategy in the vineyards and cellar.
