Aka green/ golden gram, originating from India. Cooked, their creamy taste suits soups, casseroles and mixed grain dishes. Also ground into a flour.

Wash thoroughly before use. Soak for 4 to 8hrs. Place in water and bring to the boil, then simmer for 45 minutes or pressure cook for 10 minutes.
