I added extra garlic, finely chopped carrots, and a little extra ground Cumin and salt and pepper. You can add some of your favourite veg or spices or just have it as it comes. It's super quick - 1 part Dahl to 3 parts water or stock and in no time you have a lovely Dahl. I love it!

I love Essential's Spicy Dahl mix because it is a super-nutritious comfort-food. Already spiced and onioned to perfection, just add water and in 20 minutes you have tasty dahl, a meal in itself. If you pre-soak it, it is even quicker, about 15 minutes. Or fry first in oil as recommended. Versatile, you can add ingredients, for instance cook with spinach and serve with yogurt. I am always on the look-out for healthy fast food. This is it.
